Thomas A. DiPrete
Thomas A. DiPrete is Giddings Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology at Columbia University; codirector of the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy; and codirector of the Center for the Study of Wealth and Inequality at Columbia. He is also a faculty member of the Columbia Population Research Center. His research interests include social stratification, demography, education, economic sociology, and quantitative methodology. He has held research appointments at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, the German Institute for Economic Research, the VU University Amsterdam, the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences, and the University of Amsterdam. DiPrete received his MA in mathematical statistics and his MPhil and PhD in sociology Columbia University.
