Thomas G. David

Thomas G. David was director of organizational learning and evaluation at the Marguerite Casey Foundation in Seattle. He previously served as executive vice president of the California Wellness Foundation, vice president of the S.H. Cowell Foundation, and senior program officer at the James Irvine Foundation, where he focused on health and youth grantmaking. Before his work in philanthropy, David was coordinator of clinical research for the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and director of the UCLA Bush Program in Child and Family Policy. He has also held academic roles at Claremont Graduate School, Pacific Oaks College, and the University of California, Irvine. David has served on the boards of Grantmakers in Health, Northern California Grantmakers, and Women and Philanthropy and was an advisory board member for the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program. He was the recipient of the Terrence Keenan Leadership Award in Health Philanthropy. David continues to advise foundations and other public benefit organizations on program strategy, design, and evaluation. He earned his PhD in educational psychology from the University of Chicago.
