Xueli Wang is the Barbara and Glenn Thompson Professor in Educational Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She has been associate director of Institutional Research and Assessment at Knox College; senior research associate for Student Life Research and Assessment at The Ohio State University; and a senior lecturer in the English Department at Beijing International Studies University. She teaches graduate courses on community colleges, mixed methods research in education, and assessment in higher education. Her research explores students’ success and mental health; transfer trajectories; faculty development; teaching and learning; and educational change and innovation. She was honored with the 2021 Transfer Champion-Catalyst Award by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students, the 2020 Barbara Townsend Lecture Award by the Association for the Study of Higher Education, and the 2020 University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Education’s Faculty Distinguished Achievement Award. Wang received her PhD in higher education from The Ohio State University.
