Jacob Hibel is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology; the codirector of the Center for Poverty and Inequality Research; a Chancellor's Fellow; and a graduate fellow at the UC Davis School of Education. He is also a sociologist and demographer for the Graduate Group in Education and the Migration Research Cluster. He is primarily interested in issues related to education, child development, social stratification, and immigration. He received his PhD in sociology and demography from Pennsylvania State University.
