Klint Kanopka is an assistant professor of applied statistics with the Department of Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities in the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University. His research focuses on the intersection of psychological measurement and computational modeling, including the development of mixture item response models, innovations in model comparison methods for polytomous item response models, and the application of machine learning techniques to behavioral and item response data. He is also committed to teaching computational methods and has developed and taught introductory machine learning courses for social science research. Kanopka earned his MS in computer science and a PhD in education from Stanford University. He previously taught high school physics in The School District of Philadelphia.
