Melissa Henne is a former assistant research scientist in the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley. She was also a PLUS Fellow with the Center for Cities and Schools at UC Berkeley. Her research focused on education policy, school district accountability, and the implications of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for equity and student achievement. A former teacher, she examined how school districts respond to changes in accountability policy. She co-edited Strong States, Weak Schools: The Benefits and Dilemmas of Centralized Accountability. Henne earned her PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
