Nancy Hunt

Nancy Hunt is professor emerita in the Division of Special Education and Counseling at California State University, Los Angeles. She has over 40 years of experience as a teacher educator and has taught in the Early Childhood Special Education program at Cal State LA. She has been discipline director in Special Education at CA-LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities), an interdisciplinary program for advanced professionals from 14 disciplines affiliated with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. Hunt is also the co-author of the textbook Exceptional Children and Youth, which provides an introduction to special education for pre-service and in-service teachers. She continues to teach part time in the early childhood special education programs at Cal State LA. Hunt earned her MA in special education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a PhD in education from the University of Southern California.
