Tara-Marie Desruisseaux is the assistant dean for diversity and inclusion in the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. She previously served as a recruiting and diversity coordinator at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and as an equity specialist and research associate at the USC Center for Education Policy, Equity, and Governance. Tara-Marie Desruisseaux was formerly a doctoral researcher at the USC Rossier School of Education, where her interests included creating culturally sustaining math teaching practices, helping teachers foster the development of positive math identities in Black students, and addressing racial inequalities in education. She also taught mathematics for Uncommon Schools in New York. Tara-Marie Desruisseaux earned her PhD in urban education policy from the USC Rossier School of Education. She holds a certificate in culturally sustaining teaching from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
