Judith R. Harrison is an associate professor of special education in the Department of Educational Psychology at Rutgers University. She was previously an assistant research scientist at Ohio University's Center for Adolescent Research in Schools project. Before she began her academic career, she spent over 20 years teaching and counseling children with emotional and behavioral disorders in public schools. Her research focuses on interventions and accommodations for students with ADHD and behavioral disabilities, particularly in middle school settings. She has coauthored Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders and Classroom-Based Interventions and coedited School Mental Health Services for Adolescents. She serves on the teacher education committee at Rutgers, shaping special education training for future educators. Harrison received her MA in counseling from Stephen F. Austin State University and her PhD in educational psychology from Texas A&M University.
