In California, over 60% of high school students enroll in college after graduation. Yet, less than half of these students successfully finish college six years later. Across the state, efforts to improve the transition to college abound in policy and in practice. In this seminar, we will present a comprehensive overview of California’s college readiness metrics and new statewide data on college persistence and completion. In addition, we describe the efforts of several public school districts to improve postsecondary access and success for all students, and to close persistent gaps by race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status.

Lunch will be served at 11:30am. The presentations will be begin at 12:00pm.
